Daria Abrahamian is a composer and acoustician born 1994 in Paris, France to an Armenian father and Kurdish mother, both from Iran. At the age of 3 his family moved to the U.S. settling in Los Angeles, California. There he attended a French school (LILA) and underwent pianistic studies with Jacqueline Salas. He also briefly studied composition with Liviu Marinescu. He returned to Paris in 2012 to pursue musical studies at the Schola Cantorum as a composition major. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Sorbonne University. During the past couple of years, he has been studying Iranian music with Amir Hossein Pourjavady (Setar) and Abbas Bakhtiari (Daf), adding to the piano, bass, and guitar. He is currently pursuing two master’s degrees at Sorbonne University in Acoustics (campus Jussieu) and Musicology (campus Clignancourt).
