Aida Hamed El-Oweidy (b. 1997 Cairo, Egypt) is an illustrator, animator and storyteller currently based in Cairo. Curiosity, play, and collaboration are at the core of her practice. She implements methods from various disciplines across design, visual arts and the humanities. Aida Hamed El-Oweidy explores the potential of personal storytelling and community engagement. She has concentrated her work on themes such as memory, domesticity and loneliness, interrogating these themes from a postcolonial and feminist lens. Her work has been screened at the Today Art Museum in Beijing, and in the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill.
