Elena received her master’s degree in Architecture and bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the European University of Madrid. By her understanding architecture is a machine able to build realities and modify its surroundings. That is why having a strong political and social commitment is essential for architectural design. She bases her research on the production of space through non-normative practices, whether these are exhibition or art. She is a member of EME Collective a working group that looks for alternatives to conventional curatorial practice; and VenidaDevenida, an interdisciplinary art collective that analyses the hegemonic discourse from a critical and feminist perspective.
