Sóley Tómasdóttir is an Icelandic politician who has worked at the University of Iceland Institute of Social Sciences, the White House, the Creator’s Advertising Agency and the sports and leisure area of the city of Reykjavík.

She was the leader of the Left-Green Movement in the Reykjavík City Council from 2009 to 2016 and the President of the City Council from 2014 to 2016. In May 2016 she announced that she planned to leave the city council to pursue a master’s degree in gender and diversity in the Netherlands. She now hold a MSc in Pedagogy and Diversity Studies. 

Sóley is currently an independent consultant in the field of diversity management and gender equality. With robust experience from the labour market and politics; from research, youth care, marketing, management, campaign planning and boards of large utility companies.
