This year, MCB is cooperating with re:publica, one of the biggest digital society festivals, for the fourth time. The events are taking place at the same time, from 8 to 10 May 2017 at STATION Berlin. Once again this year, MCB and re:publica are expecting about 8,000 visitors from over 60 countries.

MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin is one of Europe’s pioneering media congresses.  Current issues of media and Internet politics, market trends, and developments in digital media society are discussed in keynote speeches, fireside chats and panels as well as tested for practicality in workshops and best practice presentations. In addition to that, startups and media innovation projects from the capital region are presenting their ideas, developments, and business models.

re:publica is one of the largest and most exciting conferences about digital culture in the world. Since its foundation in 2007, it has grown from a cozy blogger meeting with 700 participants into a wide-ranging “society conference”. Representatives of digital culture share their knowledge and decision-making tools, and discuss the future of the information society. Here they can mingle with activists, scientists, hackers, entrepreneurs, NGOs, journalists, social media and marketing experts, and many others. This fosters innovation and creates synergies between net politics, online marketing, network technology, digital society, and (pop) culture. What is more, around 46 percent of re:publica speakers are female – far more than at many other similar events.
