From April to June, the University of the Underground collaborated with the UK-based free nationwide festival Tour de Moon. Inspired by artist and musician Sun Ra and his Arkestra, 9 UK-based multidisciplinary artists and talented individuals were selected through an open call to join Tour de Moon’s sustainable Moon Convoy crew and tour around England as a part of this mobile educational and learning residency. Moon Arkestra members were performing, but also from time to time giving workshops whilst taking part in tutorials with an international teaching team of unconventional thinkers, activists, artists, dreamers of the day and nightlife artists. As part of their practice-based residency, they were tasked to look into the relationships between nation-states, music, political action and displacement.

Come and join us to see the results of this two-month residency programme, calling for an investigation into whistleblowing as a political action but also as an instrument and language. We asked: How can whistleblowing (revealing secret information as a part of public institutions) be considered a creative practice and outlet to rethink our world being political, economic and sociological – within and outside of institutions?
